Scott Fraser's Battle Against Cancer

On May 28, we learned doctors found a tumor that was likely cancerous in Scott's esophagus. Our deepest fears were confirmed on Friday, May 31 when the biopsy results came back. The next two weeks were filled with doctor's appointments, scans, biopsies, and waiting. Lots of waiting. We learned the cancer had spread to other areas of his body. We were looking at a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis. Saying those words today still takes my breath away. 

Our oncologist is optimistic. Scott is young and healthy. Therefore, he can handle a more aggressive treatment plan. He receives chemo every 14 days at the hospital and continues chemo at home with a portable pump for another 46 hours.  We just finished our third round of chemotherapy. Scott is a fighter and pushes through each daily challenge he faces. 

Unfortunately, several of the procedures are not covered by our insurance provider. Our out of pocket expenses are excessive and with that comes more stress.
