On November 14th, 2022, Scott was experiencing shortness of breath, an elevated heart rate, and a high fever. After minimal waiting, he was taken to an ER bay, where he immediately coded. He was revived, intubated, and sedated. Scott was then transferred to the Unity Point ICU, receiving treatment for an infection and multi-system organ failure. Scott was receiving hemodialysis to filter the sepsis from his bloodstream due to a lack of kidney function. He had multiple physicians working diligently on his team. Unfortunately, Scott succumbed to his infection and organ failure and passed away on November 26, 2022.

As you know, Scott was my sister Maggie's fiancé. Five years ago, Scott entered our lives and instantly became family. Scott was a veteran and served as a Marine for eight years. He was a true patriot and has personally ensured that red, white, and blue are part of our family’s wardrobe. Scott was a truly kind and generous person. He did so much for everyone and asked nothing in return. He had the biggest heart and wanted everyone to have a good time and would personally see to it if you were not.

Please consider donating and sharing to assist Maggie through this challenging time.
