Scott Goodin Autopsy and Funeral Expenses
Donation protected
Hi, I am Dani and I am starting this fundraiser for my friend Kathy and her family. Her husband Scott has been battling some medical issues for the last 3 years. He has went to countless specialists only to be told they can not figure out what is causing his medical issues. He has dealt with one eye that has been in extreme pain and due to the steroids he was on for years he had a cataract that grew at a rapid rate. There was a botched cataract surgery which left him with more issues. The first two diagnoses they gave on the eye never took care of the pain or swelling. After these issues he started to suffer from extreme vertigo, light sensitivity, slurred speach at times, possible seizures, his legs became weak and he would struggle to even be able to stand due to weakness or dizziness. Throughout the last three years as he progressively got worse doctors could not diagnose him. On Sunday 11/27/2022 he passed away and went to be with his son Jason who died 21 years before him. The local medical examiner determined that he suffered a heart attack caused by his CPAP that put his heart into an episode of AFIB. He was not in bed or on his CPAP when he passed though. Also while heart disease is not unheard of in his family he had just undergone testing on his heart within the last couple months and all of that looked very good with limited blockage in his arteries. His family requested an autopsy to find out what exactly happened due to his medical history and the fact that they were unable to find out what was causing the other issues and that his heart exams have showed a pretty healthy heart. The medical examiner denied the autopsy due to them being backlogged and with his age, medical history and his death not being a priority because it was not a murder. This leaves the family with having to hire a Private Autopsy Company to get answers. He has two surviving children and 3 beautiful biological grandchildren that need to know if this is something they need to worry about. Being only 62 years old and suffering so badly for 3 years already was hard enough for the family to watch. They do not want to chance anyone else going through this. Scott was a part of the Boilermakers Union which offered no death benefits and with him being sick and seeing specialists for the last three years he drained his savings paying those medical bills. This has left his family with a very unexpected large bill to try to find out what happened and also lay him to rest. If you knew Scott you knew he had an amazing presence and an unforgettable sense of humor. He loved his family and was not ready to say goodbye as they were not ready to say goodbye to him either. Please if there is anyway you could help whether it be donate or share this gofundme it would be greatly appreciated.
