Scott Kalchthaler

Hi my name is Dawn Piergiovanni and Scott Kalchthaler is my son. Early in 2022 he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He is a very private person and this is hard for him to accept, but he could use some help and prayers. Soon after his diagnosis he started chemo and in June he had surgery to remove the mass and part of his stomach. Over the past year he was able to slowly get back to work although his health still wasn't great. He continued to lose weight in the excess of over 100 lbs which we thought was due to the chemo and surgery. He barely ate and when he tried not much would stay down. Finally about a month ago the doctors did a endoscopy to send a scope down into his remaining stomach to find that it was highly inflamed and blocked. They decided that surgery was best to clear the blockage and that they needed to remove the rest of the remaining stomach. The surgery was last week and he is currently still in the hospital recovering. there have been a few complications but we are hopeful that he will make a full recovery and will learn how to navigate his new life with his medical needs.
