Scott Leuthe Memorial Fund

My dear friend, Scott Leuthe lost his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on February 11, 2024. He leaves behind his amazing wife, Sarah and 14 year old son, Hagen. Being a husband and father was Scott’s proudest accomplishment. His diagnosis was completely unexpected and devastating. Sarah and Scott have spent the last year and a half searching for treatments, researching, traveling to specialists and remaining endlessly hopeful.
Scott grew up in West Seneca and began his nursing career at age 16 as an orderly at Mercy Hospital. There, he found his calling. He graduated from Trocaire College in 1993 and became a Registered Nurse. He went on and completed his Bachelor and Master of Science at Daemen College and became a Nurse Practitioner in 1999. Scott also proudly served 22 years in the United States Air Force Reserve as a Flight Nurse in the Niagara Falls 914th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. Throughout his career, Scott dedicated his life to helping people. He was highly respected and loved by his patients. With his compassionate approach and dedication, his work embodied his true nature of professionalism, kindness and intelligence.
Scott had an innate ability to make people feel comfortable with his infectious energy and enthusiasm. This extended into his many interests which included running, snowboarding, traveling, music and of course, the Buffalo Bills. Go Bills!
Scott knew his prognosis, his focus remained on his family. He wanted more time, to see Hagen graduate from high school and to better prepare Sarah for their life without him. Sarah has been my best friend for over thirty years, it is heartbreaking to watch her suffer this unimaginable loss.
In honor of Scott, I am starting this memorial fund for Hagen’s future education expenses. People always want to help when tragic things happen, this is would be a purposeful way to do so, bringing them some comfort in their new reality without Scott. Together, let us show them that they are not alone.
On behalf of Sarah and Hagen, thank you for your thoughts, prayers and support.
