Scott Muir & Shawna Morgan Kidney Transplant

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family and Community:
My name is Morgan Von Lintel and we are reaching out to the communities that we love on behalf of my brother-in-law, Scott Muir and his sister Shawna Morgan. Over a year ago, Scott was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure. This news was extremely devastating. As a member of Scott’s family, I can say that we have prayed for him and the long battle that he has and continues to face.
Scott has been traveling to Casper three times a week for dialysis and tests awaiting a donor. His sister, Shawna, has traveled to Denver multiple times for testing in order to become a living donor for her brother. We are so thankful that Shawna has been cleared as a match and the transplant surgery has been scheduled for August 21, 2023.
Many of you have donated to alleviate some of the financial needs of Scott and his family during this tough time and we are beyond thankful for all your help. While we are eternally grateful for all the contributions, we understand that despite having insurance, the transplant surgery will create continued financial hardship for the Muir family. After the surgery, Scott will need to stay in Denver for two months and his sister Shawna will have to stay a week. Scott’s wife, Kae, will be traveling back and forth with their little girl.
Scott is currently teaching 8th grade Social Studies at Douglas Middle School, where he coaches middle school football and high school swimming. Scott also coached football and track in Rawlins, where he taught for four years. Scott loves spending time with his wife, their little girl and their two dogs. He is passionate about working with kids, coaching and many outdoor activities. They absolutely love the community of Douglas and are so thankful for all the love and support they have been shown.
Scott’s sister, Shawna Morgan, is also an educator and coach. Shawna teaches high school Math at Lander Valley High School and coaches high school boys swimming. Shawna has said that she is the luckiest coach in Wyoming to be able to work with the kids that she does in Lander every day. She also loves spending time outdoors with her husband, Heath, their friends and their two labs.
We feel incredibly blessed by all the continued love and support that has been shown. In addition to this GoFundMe account, there is also a bank account for donations under “Scott Muir Medical Expenses” at Converse County Bank, Drawer 689, Douglas, WY 82633.
Many of you have asked about donating through Venmo. Scott’s wife, Kae, has a Venmo account that is linked to the Medical Expense Fund. The Venmo account is @kae-muir.
Thank you so much for your donation consideration. It means the world to us!
