In loving memory of Scott "Scotty" Thomson
Donation protected
A few days ago we received the worst news imaginable. Our friend and brother Scott unexpectedly lost his life due to a senseless act of gun violence by a neighbor struggling with mental illness. Scott’s partner Raileen Cramer and two of her young children witnessed Scott’s murder; they were preparing to go on a family fishing trip at the Sacramento River in Chico, CA before he was shot. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, partner, and step-dad. Scott was kind, generous, hard-working, and always spoke up for his family, friends and anyone who needed support. Raileen calls him her protector- it’s no surprise he died protecting his loved ones and neighbors. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Donations will go to Scott’s mom and family to help cover funeral costs, counseling for the family and neighborhood kids who also witnessed the shooting, and anything else they might need during this difficult and tragic time. Both sides of the family also lost their homes in the 2018 Camp Fire, and are struggling to process this terrible loss. Any amount will help! Thank you for your generosity.
