Scott Wagner Recovery Fund

I don't want to be writing this. I've read plenty, I'm sure others didn't want to be writing theirs either. Not just because we so greatly wish that this never happened, but also because asking for help is not something we're collectively good at as a family. We do the helping, we don't ask for it. Unfortunately, we're at a bit of an impasse. Having friends, family, and loved ones like you has made a huge difference for our family.

For those who do not know... in the early morning of September 24, Scott was walking home from work and in a video obtained by the police, had apparently accidentally stepped on the shoe of a passerby. To spare you the details, this person retaliated in a way that landed Scott in the neurocritical care unit with TBI (traumatic brain injury) fighting for his life. The truth is, we were told that when he came into the hospital, on a scale of 1-5 and 5 being the worst brain bleed he could have, he was at a 5.

Roughly 7 weeks removed, Scott remains hospitalized, but with many signs of recovery and hope. He has been moved from the ICU, has regained consciousness, recognized his siblings, responded to questions, and has even begun physical therapy to get him talking and moving again.

The reasons for this page are as follows...
For Scott's siblings to remain in New Orleans with him and continue to help him through this process.
For any of his additional care/medical bills to be taken care of.
For Scott to eventually have something to get him started when he is finally released from the hospital.

I know it's a big number, that wasn't easy for us either. However, there's nothing too small and we can't thank you enough for your continued support, thoughts, and prayers.

Thank you so much!
