Calling on angels. Hello, my name is Chris, and I’ve started this for my childhood friends husband Scott. Karen (wife) called me on July 5 to tell me her EVERYTHING was sick. Started with a headache and then a fever. I asked her then to give me a word to know she needed me, and 911 was the word. So by the 7th ,911 was said and I drove through the night to Pennsylvania to find out he was now on life support and now he is having seizures ,they were life flighting him to Philadelphia , not sure he would make the flight. So off we go. Now mind you ,they were never blessed with children and live a simple life up in the mountains off dirt roads, and myself living In a small town in Ohio we were scared to drive into the unknown of his journey there, plus not being city girls to drive into Philadelphia to find the hospital, to find out that they were going to have to send Scott to yet a 4th hospital… but we celebrated still because he was alive, but now he is not only fighting sepsis, but a collapsed lung, kidneys weren’t function, platelets dropping , brain was swelling, now sedating him… So by 11:30 pm we were in a city we didn’t know, I had to find a place close enough so we could rest knowing we had to be able to get here quick. Not being a computer savvy person, and not knowing the area , and finding nothing in this city for less than $300 a night I knew we were in for an drive at least 30 minutes. I know my angels were guiding me. We found a place in New Jersey, however it was still $169 a night plus 14% tax, however it was clean, and safe and we could find something different once we knew more… now here we are weeks later, and already just in hotel and gas and food, tolls not to mention he has been and still is in ICU, everything is really starting to add up to thousands of dollars. We tried to find cheaper and long term housing that the social worker gave us, however there is nothing that we have been able to find. I just need my friend and her husband to not worry about this, as of today ,they successfully were able to put a trekia in, however he is still has a long journey. I wish for him to be able to able to not be sedated and be able to speak to his wife Karen to give her some comfort.
Please if you can donate any amount of money to help her in this time it would be graciously used to cover some of this cost. And if you can’t, please keep Scott and Karen in your prayers, because we know the power of prayers! Thank you for taking the time to read this and know how special these two are. Love to all of you.
