Hi, my name is Christopher "Scott" Holt and I want to welcome you and thank you for your support. I am here to ask you for your Help!
I am self-publishing my first children's picture book to inspire America's youth!
The title of my book is: Nory the Rocket Saves the Day!
The 4 main reasons why I am asking for your help:
1. To encourage children to have a positive outlook on life.
2. To help eliminate childhood obesity through sports and activities.
3. To promote kindness and character in sports and activities, especially soccer.
4. Promote reading at an early age.
I want to share a little bit about myself and why I wrote Nory the Rocket Saves the Day!
Directly after playing college soccer and graduating, I was drawn to coaching and teaching!
As many of you know I have had a blast teaching and coaching sports and specifically soccer to thousands of children of all ages for 20 years of my life. My passion is to see the youth of all ages develop in their sport/activity and develop character at the same time. I have coached and taught our youth from the ages of 3 years to college, as an elementary school physical education teacher, soccer coaching director throughout the Western United States, high school, and college soccer coach.
I have found that the most "successful" children have a positive outlook on life due to the fact that these same children enjoyed participating in sports and movement-oriented activities.
Many of you are aware that we in the USA have a health epidemic amongst our children. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "childhood obesity has more than doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescents in the past 30 years."
So let’s inspire our youth to move their bodies early on and throughout childhood.
Children can be tough on each other for a variety of reasons: body shape, the color of skin, religion, and lack of ability and so forth. I have seen this behavior first hand and many of you have as well. The questions at the end of the book lead into character principles connected to the book.
About the book (Purpose) - Kindness, To Inspire:
“Nory the Rocket Saves the Day!” is a fun children’s picture book written to inspire children of all ages to remain positive with themselves and to look for the best in others.
· The theme of the book is KINDNESS (Seeing the best in others). My book “Nory the Rocket Saves the Day!” is an exciting book with a strong, positive theme.
· Since I love sports and teaching sports (especially soccer) Nory came to life for me…let Nory’s positive message reach the children in your circle of influence.
· Additional Questions at the end of the book to encourage children to think for themselves as lead questions can contribute to character development. The questions are thought provoking and remind children that kindness and positivity are fundamental keys to a happy and successful in life.
Where are we with the book today? I started my dream of writing Nory the Rocket Saves the Day! in April 2016. Right now the content is completed. The Sketches will be done by the end of March. The sketches then need to be adjusted and then approved. Then we will be ready to dig into the illustrations which should be done by May 15th. Then we send Nory the Rocket Saves the Day! to print which takes 8-12 weeks. Our offerings below: Timeline: Estimated book launch will be September 2017.
