Scotty and Erica's Journey to Salvation

Hi Everyone, I started this fundraiser for myself ( Erica) and my life partner Scotty. We are very very great believers in Christ! We are currently homeless and trying to get on our feet. We are registered with 211 and the last 2 nights we was lucky enough to have the church help us with 2 nights in a hotel. We job hunt daily. We are addicts in recovery. We attend church every Sunday and groups every week to help us talk about our issues, come up with coping skills, to have healthy friends. We both have 46 days clean. We are facing one of the most pressing moments an addict in recovery can face. We are about to be asked to leave our hotel room. And that sucks. It's too easy to go back to where we was before. So we are reaching out for help now. This is it. We walk everywhere, we put in job applications. We stick to our plans and we pray. We pray and pray and pray and pray. We started this GoFundMe because we are homeless and our families are going through personal things in their lives that make it hard for them to help us. We have been at a hotel for 5 days now. The first 2 and organization through 211 helped us with and the last 2 my mom helped us with. Everyday we are super excited to announce another day sober! We job hunt daily. scotty even job hunts even though he don't have his ID or Birth certificate, however we are hoping for a break through. We mostly walk everywhere but we catch a ride anytime we can. We strictly only surround ourselves with each other, supportive people and friends, addicts in recovery, and church. We refuse to go back to where we are comfortable. We quickly realized that we would rather look like beggers and homeless people rather than get high and eventually die, hurting the ones who loves us most, especially each other. We know that this is a very long hard road and people have trust issues with situations like ours. So with the help of our GoFundMe and our accountability partners, and life mentors, anything donated will be accounted for and posted as soon as we receive it and a receipt. We are only setting the amount to $2000 because we aren't sure how much we exactly need. Since we have put in so many applications we are sure we will have jobs soon, and we are clean so we can pass that drug test (which totally feels amazing), and we already have $275 donated but we have to wait for donations to process and we have to wait another 5 to 7 days for it to complete. Any donations will go to helping Scotty receive his ID, Birth certificate, work attire for both of us, new tennis shoes for walking until we get bikes or a vehicle, bikes, vehicle, hotel room, food, transportation, etc.

All gift cards are acceptable however, being that we don't own transportation These 2 are our best bet and will benefit us the most. My accountability partner is on my instacart account and my Lyft account ensuring that we only go where we are supposed to when we are supposed to.

Anything at all is accepted by us. Prayers, resources, funds, gift cards, gifts, etc. We truly appreciate anyone and everyone for all of your thoughts and all of your help.

Also this is not a scam. We are literally just down on our luck and trying so hard to

make a change. Everyday we continue to fight the good fight. And it's totally worth it.

Later in life after Scotty and I have built a better foundation we would like to help

other homeless people, and help them start over and give back what was given to

us. That's our long term goal, however right now our goal is to have shelter, food, and

ways to job search, make it to interviews, appointments, groups, church. Thank all of

***Update***

So we have found a place to stay for at least a month and a half for $50 a week. Which is amazing and definitely a blessing from our higher power!! Thank you Jesus! And what makes it even better is that it's walking distance from town how er it is a long long walk but it's do-able. I start my job on April 4th, 2024. Yay! I got my work shoes and pants and jacket in from Amazon !
