Scotty B.’s Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hello. I’m Scott Beck’s niece, Tina. Scott was admitted to the ICU in Detroit Lakes with blood sugar levels at 1270 on August 2nd. Yes…1270. He was then transferred to the ICU in Fargo. They have since been able to get his levels close to normal range but his sodium levels are high and they are unable to wake him up. He currently is still intubated and is still “coma like”. We will continue to give updates as we get them. Scotty is the kind of guy who would do anything for anyone. It doesn’t matter who you are. He has an absolute heart of gold. He has helped with numerous benefits and would give someone his very last dollar. He’s one of a kind. We want to help ease the burden of day to day bills while he gets back on his feet as he will be missing work for awhile. Please keep him in your thoughts. We pray he is able to wake up soon. You can always reach out to either my mom (Sandy), my uncles Dale & Gary or to myself with any questions. Thank you to for all the love and support Scott has been receiving. I am truly amazed by everyone. ♥️
08.05.23 - Still no changes. Still not waking up. My mom is on her way to Fargo now to be with him. She has no plans to return until he gets to come home. Please wake up, Scotty.
08.05.23 at 1:39 pm: - He gets really agitated when they do the vent test. He's on minimal everything and that's including the vent. She's just not sure why he's not waking up. She does think he will snap out of it. Very little alcohol was detected when he was admitted. So far negative cultures from the puncture.
08.06.23 - Today the doctor waiting on more test results from spinal tap. They want to see how he responds 1 more time to the vent test if no change then he will order a MRI of brain tomorrow. He’s in arm restraints as he seems to be uncomfortable and is moving his legs a lot.
08.07.23 - MRI clear!!!!!! They gave an EKG this morning. He wants to be able to administer something for delerium. He still has a slight fever. They lowered the sedation and he's agitated. Still waiting on more tests. The doctor says patience and time. If he follows commands he can get tube out. He's just not following commands. He opens his eyes but it’s a blank kind of stare. So far with it on the CPAP mode which gives just a little pressure, he’s breathing really well. Nice and steady. A little fast but he said that's ok. He's going to wake him in a bit to see if he will do the commands. Again, thank you all so much. To the donations, the doctors, nurses, his friends taking care of his stuff he had to leave behind, cousin Wesley getting his truck back home for him, the kind messages, people helping raise money for him at we fest by making sure people donate to his Jell-O shot he had made, etc…. Big thanks to his “other mother” Sandy for staying with him. I honestly have no words. ♥️
08.08.23- Today was the day. He did everything he was supposed to. The tube is out. Hopefully he stays on track. He said I want to go home. They asked who my mom was he responded “Sandy.” Hopefully he stays the course. We are so relieved.. My mom asked about a transfer but the doctor said insurance won't cover it, We’re ok with that if he's making progress. Continue your prayers for him. Thank you all so much.
I got to talk to him on this phone this afternoon! So great to be able to speak with him. ♥️
