Kat & Scotty's Cancer Fight
Donación protegida
On December 22nd, my amazing friends, Scotty & Kat had a beautiful baby girl. Rebel Elizabeth Danger Richardson, was born at 3:03 PM. However, instead of being able to hold her precious daughter, Kat was immediately taken into surgery to remove a very large tumor that was discovered a few weeks before Rebel was born. After three and a half hours in surgery and approximately a week in the hospital, Kat & Scotty were finally able to go home & spend time together as a family.
Thankfully, the tumor was removed successfully. Although, one of the hardest fights she will ever face has just begun. Kat has been diagnosed with clear-cell carcinoma, an aggressive, rapidly growing, and rare form of cancer, which has now spread to her lymph nodes.
As most of us know, the expenses of raising a child can be extremely overwhelming. With the newly tacked on challenge of affording surgery, radiation, chemotherapy and other treatment methods to cure this aggressive and deadly disease, the bills will only continue to grow and cause an incredible amount of stress for two of the most amazing & genuine people I have ever had the pleasure to know. Unfortunately, Kat doesn't have any paid time off work, so Scotty is currently supporting his family on one income and would never ask for help, so I’ve taken matters into my own hands.
I personally know the devastating affects of cancer. It doesn’t just affect the patient, it affects everyone around you who has to helplessly watch every merciless step. The sickness, the hair loss, and crushing weakness and exhaustion at all hours of the day, and, of course, the inability to be as fully present as you once were. Cancer takes an astonishing toll on your body and being completely there for your family, especially your child, just simply isn’t as easy as it once was when you were healthy.
This is why I’m reaching out to all of you. I’m only one person and can only do so much. The amount of money it will take to pay these medical bills and getting Kat back to her healthy self will take thousands of dollars. I can make a small difference and you can too; in the lives of these incredible parents, friends, and family.
I humbly ask, even if you can only donate a dollar, please help my friends get through this terrifying time in their lives. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Tangi Richert
