Scout Needs Cancer Surgery

Hi besties. Most of you know me and have supported me for several years as rx0rcist. Today I'm humbly asking for financial support for the first time. Recently, one of my goldies named Scout went for her annual check up and to have some lumps on her body evaluated. While most of them came back as benign, one on her right elbow was found to be a mast cell tumor, a malignant type of cancer that can be fatal to dogs within months if not treated (depending on the grade of tumor). The degree and severity of Scout's cancer cannot be determined until the tumor is removed surgically. Due to its location on her leg it was difficult to locate a veterinarian comfortable enough to perform the surgery and be able to ensure a successful procedure while maintaining mobility of her leg and quality of life. 3 other vets actually recommended amputation before we found a vet who felt comfortable removing the tumor. The surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, September 12th, 2023. These consultations, including one with an oncologist, preoperative care, surgical costs, and postoperative care have come at time when my own recent health issues have had a significant financial impact on my family. The same week we found that Scout had cancer, I found out I had gallbladder disease that would require surgery, and our air conditioning broke resulting in us vacating our home temporarily. I've debated asking for help for over a month and, thanks to the continued love and encouragement from my followers, I'm comfortable enough to finally ask. The quote for the surgery alone is $2500-$3000.
