Joseph's Eagle Scout Project !

My name is Joseph Hoayun and I live in East Orlando, Florida. I’m 16 years old and a Life Scout from Boy Scout Troop 713. I’m in my last step right now before getting to the last rank of Eagle Scout; “ it's the highest honor of scouting that only 5 percent of boy scouts ever achieve”. In order to become an Eagle Scout, I must be required for my last project to “develop, plan and lead a service project that will be helpful towards my community, school or church”.
I joined scouting when I was in first grade at Columbia Elementary, then followed it in Corner Lake MS, now I am in the 11th grade at East River High School. In my 10 years of being a cub scout and a boy scout, I’ve earned many belt loops and lots of merit badges. Also most of the merit badges have been in science and that opened up many choices for careers in science and math. That is why I want to go into a STEM career like engineering.
I’m up to the task for this Eagle Scout Project, so I started organizing a project to beautify and benefit East River HS. My high school needs benches along the front of the school to provide a seating area for visitors or students waiting in front of the school. I’ve had meetings already with the administrators of East River and they have been very supportive.
I need and would like your help with a small donation to raise funds to buy and install 3- 4 school benches with the East River name engraved, from the school supply company. Also, for the large green areas behind the benches, I’ll be organizing and leading a group of volunteers- scouts and adults, to redo and plant new flowers, plants and mulch. And last, if funds are available, I would like to buy and design a memorial to put in the new garden to honor our fallen soldiers for all their courage and sacrifices for our freedoms. The project will cost approximately $2500 and all money and supplies collected for this fundraising will go entirely towards the project and to benefit East River High School in East Orlando, Florida.
