SCS Fire Recovery Fund

Tax deductible

On the evening of May 6th, the Southport Christian School Elementary Building suffered a devastating electrical fire.  The fire spread quickly through the roof to many of the classrooms.  Thankfully, the only person in the building at the time called 911 and got out in time.  The Southport, Oak Island, Boiling Spring Lakes, Sunny Point and Sunset Harbor Fire Departments plus other emergency units responded immediately and did an amazing job containing and putting out the fire, however it burned extremely hot for over an hour and a half.  The crews needed to break open windows and the roof to douse the flames.

Unfortunately, the building and nearly all the contents are a complete loss due to either fire, smoke or water damage.  This is a loss to not just the school but our community.

SCS has touched the lives of so many families in our area from preschool through high school.   They have been the source of Christian education for 25 years in Southport and an important part of our community.  They are committed to coming back stronger and bigger than before but they will need help.

All donations (minus any fees that GoFundMe charges) will go directly to SCS.  If you can help, it would be a blessing and appreciated.   Let's be SCS Strong! Thank you!

Isaiah 40:31 "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar like wings on eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
