Scully Has an Obstruction

Donation protected
Hi my name is Amy Beebe, i have a 6 year old french bulldog named Scully who was adopted from a great rescue called Bullies 2 the Rescue when she was 6 months old. At the time I had been fostering dogs with the rescue and she was my 10th foster dog of that year... and my first ever foster fail. When a dog walks into your life (even when you have 3 other crazy dogs) and they just click... you know.

My dogs have never gotten into the garbage before and im not sure if it was a freak accident or the dogs actually purposely got into it... but about 48 hours ago i left the house for about 2 hours and when i came home garbage was everywhere. After cleaning it up I noticed about 1/3 of a corn cob on their dog bed and dreaded what i knew was going to be a problem.

Almost immediately after I came home Scully began vomiting. Her food and bits of corn cob were coming up... not sure how much there might be we just tried to keep her hydrated and watch out and collect any pieces of corn that may come out. The next morning she threw up her breakfast, after calling an emergency vet they told us to observe her for a bit of time as she was still throwing up pieces of corn cob to see if she could get it up on her own.

Last night she had some plain chicken for dinner and i thought things were going in the right direction but 2.5 hours later she then threw up her dinner. This morning she had her chicken and i called our regular vet, they gave us an appointment for an exam and xray tomorrow at 9am. She was doing good and hadnt thrown up so i gave her a bit of kibble soaked in water trying to get her to poop (at this point it had been over 24 hours). 2 hours later she threw everything up. I called our regular vet back and they directed us to cancel our appointment and take her to an emergency vet as soon as possible because clearly something was blocked in her stomache and they arent able to preform the necessary surgery there.

After calling the Emergency vet here in Rock Hill- Carolina Vet Specialists i was then quoted prices at what i would be looking at. 195$ just for the visit. 150$-350$ for the xrays. And 3000-4000$ for the surgery to remove the object... not including bloodwork, medications or anything else.

Those who know me, know that my dogs are my life. They also know my 10 year old dog Tig is recently in hospice care dying of Lymphoma. I barely have a dime to my name at the moment and this couldnt have come at the worst time, my lease is up June 6th and we've also been trying to find a place to live.

My mental health has always been a struggle, Ive made no secrets about that. And being off 90% of my medications and losing both my dogs is not something i can emptionally handle at this point and i am grasping at straws and trying everything i can to save her and keep her.

If i cannot figure this out, i have no choice but to return her to the rescue to make sure she gets the care she desperately needs... no doubt crushing me, but i need her to just be okay.

If you can help me in any way i am eternally grateful, even 1$ or a share.
