Hi everyone! I would like to introduce you to "The Four Little Robots," an all-girls elementary school VEX IQ team from South Dakota who have recently won the prestigious Excellence Award State Championship at the 2022-2023 State of South Dakota VEX IQ State Tournament.

These young girls have proven that anything is possible with hard work and determination. Under the guidance of their remarkable coach, Carla Diede, who has won the South Dakota's 2017 Milken Educator Award and the 2020 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, the team has captured multiple awards and accolades throughout the 2022-2023 season.

One of the highlights of the team's robot practice this season was when the girls had a chance to discuss their robot design and game strategy with Allison Okumura, an American mechanical engineer and roboticist, and Professor at Stanford University. The chat was a great opportunity for the girls to see the real-world applications of their hard work and to have a female role model in the field of robotics.

With their state championship win, The Four Little Robots will now build a second robot to compete at the US Open Robots Championship in Councils Bluffs, IA the end of March and the World's championship in Dallas in May. The team is currently seeking sponsorship and donations to support their transportation fund.
