World Finals 2015 Niwot 4th Graders

Donation protected
Niwot 4th graders are #1 Colorado Odyssey of the Mind team and are heading to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals 2015 on May 20 - May 23rd.

A group of Niwot Elementary 4th graders (Cielle Burnett, Hannah Geiling, Ryan Gray, Liesel Heitz, Riley Leitner-Hutchinson, Maya Lyndon, and Grant Riddle) won first place at the Colorado Odyssey of the Mind creative problem-solving competition in Fort Collins on April 28th. The team will represent Colorado at the World Finals in East Lansing, Michigan in May. The students worked throughout the school year on a “Classics” challenge, designing and writing a clever theatrical adaptation of Pandora’s Box myth as a video game. The team’s play features handmade props and portrays gamers defeating three evils - Darth Vader, Kim Jong-un and Justin Bieber - to bring hope to the world.  The students’ performance, which included hand-built props, won top honors, as did the team’s efforts in the quick-thinking “Spontaneous” portion of the competition. The team is currently raising funds to help cover their costs for the World Finals.

Your donation will help the team with registration, pins, t-shirts, drawstring bags, coaching costs, travel, hotel, food and prop transport.

Best wishes to teams, coaches, and volunteers.  Thank you for your support.  Go Niwot 4th graders!
