Tracy Kelly and Daughter Need Van

My name is Iva-Laura Self and I am a friend of this little girl's aunt, Natalie Lunceford. Natalie's brother, Tracy, was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy at age 2 1/2.  He suffered respiratory failure at age 21 and was put on a ventilator at nighttime. In 1999, Tracy married "the girl next door", Elizabeth; they really grew up next door to each other.  They maintained a friendship when she went away to college. She dated, however, none of the men were the emotional support that Tracy was for her.  Even though Elizabeth and Tracy had concerns, they chose to be together. When they decided they wanted to start a family they sought the doctor's advice and were told that the type of muscular dystrophy Tracy had would not be passed on to their children. The doctors were wrong and their little girl, Jill, was born with muscular dystrophy. By age 4, she was wheelchair bound.  A year later Tracy was put on a ventilator 24 hours a day.

The family has been able to financially provide support as needed, up until the latest problem. They were told their 26 year old van (1 wheelchair) was not repairable. Without their transportation, they are unable to go anywhere, not even to the doctor. This family desperately needs a 2-wheelchair van; the dad and daughter have never been anywhere together.......ever. "Please help this father and daughter have their dance."
