In June of 2019, I took a trip down to Florida for my niece Hannah's first birthday party. In my mind, it was the beginning of a new yearly tradition. Shortly after the week I spent there, I was already planning for her second birthday and thinking of ideas for presents that she would love. However, in October of that same year Hannah received news that would change her life forever.

At just 16 months old, Hannah was diagnosed with a Rosette Forming Glioneuronal Tumor, which is a tumor located in her brain. Typically, these tumors have a very low potential for progression but this has not been the case for Hannah. Her most recent MRI on May 20th, 2020 showed that the tumor has unexpectedly quadrupled in size in just three short months, growing from 8mm to 38mm. It is now of dire importance that Hannah receives medical treatment.

With one brain biopsy previously done, the minimum expectation for Hannah is that she will require a second brain biopsy as well as resection surgery, to remove the tumor in its entirety, and chemotherapy. Currently living in Florida, it is in her best interest that she be taken to either Boston, Philadelphia, Houston or Memphis to receive treatment.

Due to this necessary relocation, Hannah's Mother and Father will both need to take a leave of absence from their occupations for the foreseeable future. The money being raised will be put towards living expenses, costs of travel, and medical bills as Hannah's parents will be without income during their time spent away from home supporting and caring for Hannah.

There is no reason for anybody, be it a family member or not, to be faced with a battle as tough as this at such a young age. Through it all Hannah has been her own, and our entire family's, source of joy and strength. Spending her days happily swimming in her pool or FaceTiming us all to proudly tell us the new words she has learned,  she has managed to keep all our spirits up. With her second birthday on June 4th I won't be able to fly to see her or shower her with presents, but I will give her the gift of being #HannahStrong. Together, we can all give her this gift and provide her with the strength she needs to win this fight. Any and all amounts of donations and shares are greatly appreciated.
