Hurricane Otis Fundraiser Turtle Conservation

Donation protected
Our sea turtle habitat has been impacted by the hurricane. The fisherman and families from the Costa Grande Region has been severely damaged by the category 5 Hurricane Otis. We need your help!
My name is Eduardo and I am originally from Guerrero, Mexico. I live in San Diego but I frequently visit my friends and family in Guerrero.
Guerrero is a region with abundant wild life but unfortunately most of it is in danger of extinction. From Jaguars in the Sierra to Sea Turtles in the Ocean.
My family is located next to the Ocean so I figure that's were I will start helping.
The area that we will be helping is the Northern Region of Guerrero also known as Costa Grande. The Costa Grande begins in Acapulco and it ends at the border with the state of Michoacan.
Let me start with the insides of running a sea turtle conservation in Mexico.
Believe it or not, to start and run a turtle conservation in Mexico it costs money. How crazy is that. The local fishermen or locals that have the courage and time to help this beautiful endanger species have to pay out of pocket.
The fees include annual permits and fines. If there is any discrepancy at all in the accountability of the turtles the people running the conservation get fined. Most of the people running the conservatories are busy with their daily lives so you know, those fees are often. Other fees include law fees, and material to keep the turtles safe from humans and predators. But I will say the hardest fee or cost is the physical one.
How does the conservation works? The season when the turtles lay eggs is from July to November. Or during the raining season, as the locals say. For five months the locals work day and night to collect the eggs. The eggs are removed from the wild then taken to a safe place. Like in the picture. The turtles lay eggs early in the morning or late at night. The conservationist go out at that time and collect the eggs before the humans or the animals get them. But they also must maintain accountability of the numbers of the eggs because they can get audit by the Mexican Marines at random.
The money will help pay fees and buy equipment for the turtle conservation. With the rough weather the nets have to be replaced every season. Also the annual fees and fines have to be paid.
Soon the sea turtles will be released into the wild and I will have the pictures to show you all how beautiful those little creatures are. The first time I saw them I fell in love with them and I couldn't believe how pretty they are. If you feel adventurous you can also go and visit first hand how the turtles are released.

Best regards,
Eduardo and Family
