Sean & Allison's IVF Journey

Hey there!

We are Sean and Allison Saldivar! Sean was born and raised in Lowell, MI. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years and is now a security guard at Gun Lake Casino. Sean loves to cook and is a huge Star Wars fan. Allison was born and raised in Kentwood, MI and has had a career in childcare for the past 9 years. Allison loves being creative, whether it be decorating our home or just good old arts & crafts, and anything Disney! As a couple we love to cuddle on the couch and watch movies, try out new restaurants, and overall just spend as much quality time together as we can.

Sean and I (Allison) went out on our first date in May of 2015 and were engaged to be married that September. We got married the following September and became a happy family of 5. Sean had 3 children from previous relationships and I became a step-mom to 3 wonderful children, 2 of which I ended up legally adopting.

We started trying to have a baby immediately after getting married with no success. In the fall of 2018 we went to The Fertility Center for answers and found that the vasectomy reversal that Sean had just prior to us getting married had failed and that we would need to do IVF.

We went ahead and started our first round of IVF in Oct/Nov of 2018. We ended up having 5 viable embryos 2 of which we decided to transfer right away, but unfortunately didn’t take. Over the next few months we contemplated our next few steps regarding IVF. In March of 2019, we took in our niece at 8 days old and she has been with us ever since. Now that she is older, we have decided that next year would be perfect to have our last 3 embryos transferred in hopes that we could round out our family with one last little one.

IVF is a very costly process which unfortunately is not covered by our insurance. We are hoping to raise some funds to help cover some of this very costly process. Any support is appreciated to help cover the ongoing costs of this process. Thank you all for your consideration, love and support!
