Sean Heidman Memorial

On January 8, 2021, our beloved Sean Heidman passed away unexpectedly in his sleep.

Sean was the very definition of a GIVER. With his heart always on his sleeve, he’d openly befriend those around him and would humbly share his life story in efforts to help others through their own struggles. His magnetic energy, big blue eyes and optimistic warmth would often disarm those in the worst moments of their life. Sean knew how to set aside his own battles and use his story to bring out the best in others. He was a diamond that shone the brightest for the people who returned his love. Sean’s greatest gift to the world was his music.

At 15, he reached into a closet and pulled out his dad’s guitar, hoping to teach himself how to play “Stairway to Heaven.” He nailed the entire riff by that evening, shocking his family. He went on to form his first of many bands, channeling the likes of Blink 182, Circe Survive, Fleetwood Mac, Thrice and the vocal styles of Anthony Green. Ever the artist, he expanded his talents to pencil drawings and stunning sketches which would often be a surprise gift to others when they needed it the most.

Because he passed away in Asheville, NC, his family asks for help with bringing him home to rest in PA. We love him immensely and want to see him put to rest with the respect and love he deserved.  The remainder of the proceeds will go to THE RECOVERY HOME EXTENDED CARE, a sober living/ mental health-supporting community in Asheville, NC that provides therapy, structure and accountability to help people tackle their challenges in life.  Addiction is not just about substance abuse, it's also a legitimate disease that affects millions.  A scholarship will be set up in Sean’s name to give other people in need the opportunity for a chance at sobriety and hopefully the chance of a better life - and happiness.  Any contributions would be much appreciated.  (https://therecoveryhomeasheville.com/

If Sean were with us today, he'd want this to be his legacy: helping others in need.  He’d tell us to slow down, listen to one another and be quick to love. Don’t put off reaching out to someone you’ve lost touch with, especially during this crazy time. One quick message or text could go a long way. Hug more, communicate more, love more.
