Sean McLoughlin - Accident Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Sean McLoughlin collided with a van while riding his bicycle on October 29, 2021. The accident left him with 8 fractured discs in his spine. The force of the accident was such that the driver’s side door of the van could not be opened and Sean’s helmet busted the driver’s window. He was lucky to survive or to not be paralyzed, and fortunately, he will not need surgery. However, he will be in a back brace for 3 months and will be unable to drive or lift anything over 10 lbs during that time.
After spending 8 days at the hospital, Sean has just been transferred to a rehabilitation facility, where he will spend the next two weeks regaining his strength and learning how to function while wearing the back brace.
Sean is a licensed General Contractor who specializes in kitchen and bath remodels, and he does about 70% of the installation work himself. He has health insurance, but as is the case for most self-employed individuals, his insurance premiums and deductible are both very high, and the benefits are not great.
Sean would say his most important role is that of Dad to his 11 year old son, Sander. He looks forward to the day when they can get back to their active lifestyle, which includes hiking and sword fighting.
The funds raised will be used to cover medical bills and living expenses while Sean recuperates. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.
