Sean Patrick Kelly relief fund.

Hi my name is Fred Jenkins and I'm a lifelong friend of Sean Patrick Kelly formerly of Ho-Ho-Kus NJ. I've known Sean since 1983 when we entered Bergen Catholic High School in Northern New Jersey wide-eyed and full of dreams and promise. Our friendship has withstood the test of time and the trials and tribulations of life.

So now one of these tribulations is at his feet. Due to significant health issues and poor timing my dear friend Sean is facing the demon of homelessness. Just a short time ago he was gainfully employed and caring for his mother but in less than a year this has all changed. This challenge at his age and in his state of health I fear will be insurmountable without help and support from our community and his friends.

Amendment: 08/08/23

To all of you, I am proud to say that thanks to many people's generosity and Sean making some hard choices and working diligently has kept him from living on the street. He is living and working in a halfway house in Phoenix and working toward rebuilding his life. He is working with his doctors on his health issues and is getting in shape due to a healthier lifestyle. He will remain in his current housing situation until he can properly support himself again. Sean with the help of the staff at the home is reaching out to every available local, state, and federal agency to strengthen his own personal safety net and in preparation for him exiting the program. He still has the majority of the funds that were raised for him but the reality is he will need more when he makes that step back from the fringes of society. He'll need funds for housing deposits, daily expenses, and possibly some form of transportation to get to and from work. So I have edited the current fund amount from $5000 to $10000. This we believe will give him a chance to make a new start down the road.

I know these are trying times for all of us but if you can see it in your heart to make even a small donation it should help him to buy the time he needs to get healthy and back on his feet. Love, prayers, and wishes to all. Thanks for your time.

A letter from Sean :

Dear close friends and brothers,
I'm writing this in the hopes that everyone had a joyous and Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year's. 2023 was, to speak bluntly, a very strange and difficult year for myself. With medical and financial issues, I never thought I'd reach a low like I did. I saw things that I only previously have seen on the primetime nightly news. It changed my whole perspective about my life and the things I needed to change. Getting back to my own spirituality has been key to me being able to overcome these dark days.
I have made some changes in my life to pursue a NEW future. I just wanted to sincerely thank each and every one of you for helping me through some difficult times. Words cannot express my gratitude.
I still have a ways to go to be where I was prior to my current situation. That's the challenge, that I accept. As I was taught at the greatest institution of my life, DEUS VULT. There is a reason and I'm working toward finding a solution.
I just wanted to thank you for listening and I will make you proud.

Love always,
Sean P Kelly
