This happy Loving sweet man has a big fight ahead of him- Please help!
Hello – my name is Sean Powers Jr. I live in Melbourne, FL with my incredible wife and 5 year old son. I was diagnosed with Stage III Testicular Cancer in April of 2020.
The cancer had spread to the lymph nodes in my abdomen along with some lung involvement. After surgery in April to remove the primary tumor, I completed 3 months of chemotherapy. The chemo was effective at reducing the tumor markers in my blood however, there is still a 8cm mass obstructing my right kidney. A month after chemo, the tumor markers in my blood are rising again.
For the next 2 months, I will be undergoing a stronger dose of chemo inpatient at the hospital near my home. Following that I need to travel across the state to a more experienced cancer center in Tampa, FL to receive 3 cycles of high dose chemotherapy with stem cell transplants, each cycle lasting at least 1 month.
After all the upcoming chemo I will need an invasive surgery to remove the lymph nodes in my abdomen. It is going to be unbelievably difficult being away from my wife and son for such long periods of time, I miss them already just thinking about it!
Anything you can provide to help ease the burden over the coming months would be truly appreciated. I cannot thank you enough for your time and resources. I have been blown away by everyone’s support throughout this process and am grateful for being healthy enough to complete the 3 upcoming transplants to finally kill this cancer. Thank you!
