Sean's Wilderness Treatment Program
Donation protected
Over the last two years, our family has struggled to help our son with his depression, anxiety and addiction to opioids. For those of you whose lives have been touched by similar circumstances, you know what a toll this can take on the individual, the family and their finances. So far, we have relied on our limited resources, health insurance and the generosity of our parents to support various therapeutic treatments. Sean has made significant progress and his commitment to sobriety has blossomed. However, he continues to struggle with debilitating depression and his health care providers have recommended he go back to a longer-term residential treatment program with an emphasis on mental health.
As a result, we have decided to enroll Sean in the Young adult Wilderness Therapy Program at Evoke Therapy Programs (https://evoketherapy.com/). Our hope is that this will give him the inspiration and confidence to take the next critical steps toward a rewarding, independent life. Unfortunately, this opportunity has a steep cost (nearly $35,000). We are hoping our health insurance will cover some of this, but wilderness programs are not generally supported by health insurance. In addition, we have incurred roughly $10,000 in debt from previous medical bills.
We created the Go Fund Me account with the hope that our extended network of friends and family might help us afford this expensive treatment and manage our debt. This account will remain open until February 4. Please consider donating any amount and feel free to forward this request to anyone else you think might be interested. We are immensely grateful for your consideration.
