Seattle Fire Department Rescue Of Service Dog
81 year old Disabled Veteran Loading working service dog into car for a trip to the veterinarian hospital when the new replacement service dog spooked and bolted across the street, Rention Ave. S, at the unmarked crosswalk, she, Rivka, was hit broadside by a speeding car driving about 40 mph in a 25 mile posted residential zone. The Fire Department gave wonderful assistance after the nearest neighbor called them for us and we were able to rush her to the emergency pet hospital where she was saved...expenses have been great and there are more to come making it very hard on my fixed income. Blue Pearl Veterinary Hospital in Renton, WA, was wonderful and did as much for Rivka as our limited funds allowed.
