Seattle Pride Deadlift Party 2024
Donation protected
For the 3rd year in a row... Rain City Fit Presents:
Pride Pull-a-Palooza: Seattle's Pride Deadlift Party 2024!
Pride Pull-a-Palooza is Seattle’s Annual Deadlift Competition and Fundraiser. Think: block party meets deadlift competition.... with a little sprinkle of queer magic on top! This year, we’re pairing with up with Queer/Bar and Cheer Seattle to create an event that is OUT OF THIS WORLD. 100% of proceeds raised will be donated to LGBTQIA2+ organizations local to Seattle. Everybody deserves a spot on the platform, including and especially Transgender and Gender Nonconforming (TGNC) athletes.
(5/18/24) Official Announcement from Pride Deadlift Party Seattle:
"As a team, we have made the decision to increase the number of fundraiser beneficiaries from two to six. This decision is a result of our desire to allocate funds to a greater number of marginalized communities and organizations.
To maximize your impact, each donation will be split equally among the six beneficiaries, several of which support less well funded, but hugely important local LGBTQIA2+ organizations and communities—making your generosity go even further!
Additionally, we have made the decision to include PRCS as a beneficiary. You can read more about what they do and this decision on our website."
100% of money raised will be donated to the following organizations: Gen Pride, Lavender Rights Project, UTOPIA WA, Trans Women of Color Solidarity Network, Cheer Seattle, and PCRS
As always, Rain City Fit owners (Leanna Carr and Ben Koenigsberg) and Seattle Pride Deadlift Party Directors have donated their time to make this event possible and will NOT be profiting off of the production of this event in any capacity.
100% of funds raised here will go directly towards our benefitting organizations (listed below) and we will always be transparent with photo documentation during our donation process.
GenPride (Generations Aging with Pride) and Community Roots Housing have built Seattle’s first affordable housing project designed to be an affirming environment for LGBTQIA+ seniors. The project provides 118 apartments, with a mix of studios and 1-bedroom units – as well as a community and health services center.
Lavender Rights Project elevates the power, autonomy, and leadership of the Black intersex & gender diverse community through intersectional legal and social services. They provide life-saving policy and social change advocacy, comprehensive care, and legal services to Black, indigenous, and LGBTQ+ individuals, with a particular emphasis on supporting Black trans communities.
UTOPIA WA (United Territories of Pacific Islanders Alliance Washington) is a Queer and Trans people of color led organization based out of South King County that fights for the liberation of Queer Trans POC folk. UTOPIA provides its members with basic needs, paths to career and life opportunities, advocates for social justice, education, and a sense of purpose for this LGBTQIA+ community.
Cheer Seattle, part of the Pride Cheerleading Association, is an adult non-profit cheerleading association that raises funds for the LGBTQIA+ community. Cheer Seattle attends Pride events, sports games/competitions, and hosts fundraisers to raise awareness and spirits through performances and community outreach. Every year, Cheer Seattle selects a local non-profit that shares their philosophy of health & and wellness. This year, their fundraising will support Lavender Rights Project.
Trans Women of Color Solidarity Network (TWOC) aims to provide transitional housing and essential healthcare access support to BIPOC trans folk with the House of Constance. The House of Constance is an ongoing project that will provide stable housing for 8-10 Black, Indigenous, Trans People of Color.
PRCS is an officially recognized independent National Society that is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Their mission is to provide humanitarian assistance, health, and social services in both times of peace and war, crises and disasters.
Our ask for participants who are lifting is to aim to fundraise 1 dollar per pound lifted. For example, someone who plans on lifting 200 lbs should aim to try to raise $200. If each person pledges to aim to raise this amount, we should be able to reach our collective goal.
