Sebastians wish to run and play football again!

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Adriana and I’m fundraising for my 7 year old son Sebastian, who was born with cerebral palsy. He is a lovely and smart boy who wishes nothing more than to walk and run like his friends. He loves football and he dreams to be a professional player.

He’s very resilient and never ever complains about his disability nor the pain he’s experiencing. Basically, he believes he can fly !

Sebastian’s medical diagnoses are cerebral palsy and severe dystonia of his left leg. In the past 2 years he had two surgeries to the left ankle involving tendon lengthening. Unfortunately, both were unsuccessful.

The left side of his brain is more damaged and the orthopedic surgeries are unable to help him.

After the second surgery, he is struggling to use his splint and is getting very painful blisters on his left ankle. He is experiencing a lot of pain even though he is on very strong medications - baclofan, diazepam and paracetamol. It’s harder and harder to control his suffering. All we hear from his orthopedic surgeon and neurologist is that there is nothing else they can do for him because his damaged brain is in charge and responsible for the situation and all orthopaedic interventions were unsuccessful.

We are not ready to give up on Sebastian and leave him wheelchair bound and overly medicated. There is some amazing treatment available by Swiss Medica Clinic located in Switzerland, called Stem Cell Therapy. Treatment enhances the survival and renewal of healthy tissue cells by activating differentiation of local stem cells, which help to RESTORE LOST TISSUE FUNCTION. This could really change Sebastian’s life and he has been accepted for treatment!. We also need to continue hydrotherapy and physiotherapy with Neuro Physio by Claire and associates. Unfortunately, none of this is funded by the NHS >>> ‼️PLEASE CHECK very Important update below!!!>>>>> There has been a great change in Sebastian’s medical treatment
Plan‼️

So, we are now left needing to raise money to ensure Sebastian gets this potentially life changing treatment. If you can find it in your heart to help Sebastian to be able to play and run like his mates we would be more than grateful!

Hi everyone,

First of all, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have supported us over the past year. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us. Especially, Sebastian’s teachers and friends with families of St.Christopher Primary School in Ashton Under Lyne who originated an amazing walk for students in order to help and support the cause and independently raised additional 4000£ !

We have some important updates regarding Sebastian's health and treatment. Sebastian's health had been deteriorating while we were raising funds for his stem cell therapy. His leg condition had worsened significantly, and in our quest for more help, we decided to seek a second opinion.

Fortunately, due to the increasing level of pain Sebastian was experiencing, we reached out to our GP asking for second opinion in a different hospitals in UK. This led us to two different hospitals in the UK, one in North Wales The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

After initial of examinations, we received some incredible news. The medical teams at both hospitals have decided to take on Sebastian's case and provide him with the care he urgently needs. They will be performing a new procedure involving neurology and orthopedic surgery to address his condition.

We are filled with hope and gratitude for this opportunity to improve Sebastian's quality of life. Your support has brought us to this point, and we continue to rely on your kindness as we move forward on this journey.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being there for Sebastian and our family. Your support makes all the difference.

Sebastian is also under care of Pain Management stuff in a Manchesters Royal hospital for Children. They are directly involved in helping Sebastian pharmacologically and psychologically to deal with his chronic pain.

10/03/2023
Sebastian attended a tibial nerve block operation by Neurosurgeon Dr.B. Pettorini.

24/05/2023
Sebastian was admitted for a permanent neurectomy by Dr. Pettorini in Liverpool.

Sebastian is awaiting his third orthopaedic surgery by Mr.Walton, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Alder Hey Hospital. He is on priority list for the procedure.

I understand that it has been a challenging year for Sebastian, both physically and emotionally. Despite the difficulties, he has shown great resilience and remains a happy child who loves playing football as much as possible, even though he sometimes needs a wheelchair due to his deteriorating health. With an upcoming surgery on the horizon, the focus is on pain management, physiotherapy, and preparing for intensive post-surgery physiotherapy. The funds collected are greatly appreciated however, we hope with everyone’s blessing we can shifted the priority  to provide immediate help for Sebastian's condition due to his suffering and pain level at this point of time.If you need further assistance or have any questions, please let me know.

         Thank you so much!

Kind Regards
Sebastian and mum!

Unfortunately, the reconstructive leg surgery in Liverpools Alder Hey hospital has been cancelled at the very last minute.

It’s been extremely difficult for Sebastian and the rest of the family. At this point we’re trying our best to manage his pain and mental wellness.

Next date that has been mentioned is possibly 27th of December.

Kind words for everyone who cares
