Second double lung transplant for Tahlia!

Sweet Sixteen! Toronto, Oct 7, 2020.......The day had finally arrived, a day that comes with lots of joy, laughter and unforgettable memories for most beautiful 16 year olds. Nov 16th, 2020.......finally a donor, a double lung transplant surgery and months of recovery and rehab. But best of all a trip back home to Halifax in June 2020 with a new lease on life; a fresh start, renewed vigor and good health.

My Name is Judy Robichaud and my sweet granddaughter is Tahlia Ali. Now a blossoming 19 year old who needs a second double lung transplant. If you were to ask me if I thought I would be sitting at my computer setting up yet another fundraiser to help save Tahlia's life, once again, I would not have believed it.

At the age of 7 years, Tahlia was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. At that time they also discovered two wholes in her heart. After years of treatment she had her first transplant in 2020. After arriving home, she went on to graduate from high school and during this time, she attended numerous summer camps at Brigadoon. She was also very active in drama and cheer. Up until this past October, her life was full of fun and friends.

This past October, after a bout of COVID, infection set into her lungs resulting in rejection. She now needs to go back to Toronto and be waitlisted once again for a re-transplant. Currently, as I write, she is in the hospital with a large blood clot in her right lung and smaller ones in her left lung. She is being treated with blood thinners. Tahlia was supposed to leave for Toronto today with her Mom. That now has been postponed until the docs feel she is able to travel.

Calling on all former TEAM TAHLIA! members. Your help and support for Tahlia and her family is urgent. I know Tahlia is a strong girl, a ray of light but this is tough; for all of us. I am numb. As we know from the last fundraiser, "Breathe with Ease" supported Tahlia and her Mom during there year stay in Toronto in 2020/2021. Funds you helped raise for that Campaign went towards:
