Second Life Horse Rescue Donation Drive

Hi. I'm Riley Elkins and I'm a junior at Edgemont Jr/Sr High School. I am passionate about horses and want to help Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue and the horses they save.

Lucky Orphans is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and their mission is to rescue these beautiful animals from tragic situations, such as injured racehorses who would otherwise be put down. In one specific instance of abuse, the owner put chlorine in the horse's water instead of cleaning it, therefore forever ruining the horse's stomach lining. He can no longer eat hay and most types of grains. Lucky Orphans also works to strengthen the healing bonds between humans and horses. Their motto is "People Helping Horses Heal People".

By donating you will not only be helping these rescued horses, but you'll also be helping people who are served by one of the programs they offer, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, which helps with PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and other challenges.

Along with a GoFundMe, I am also setting up a donation bin at the barn where I ride to collect once-loved, but outgrown gear and apparel that I am going to sell to people who need items, but can not afford them, hence, giving it a "second life." 100% of the profits will go to Lucky Orphans.
