“As at 31 March 2021, there were 45,370 fostering households and 76,640 foster carers in England. This is a 2% and 4% increase since 2014 to 2015, respectively. However, over the period to March 2020, the number of children in foster care grew by around 11%.
The number of family and friends’ households continues to rise, and is at an all-time high.
Despite the numbers of fostering households and foster carers in England being at their highest ever levels, the increases are not keeping up with demand in the sector.”

Why is the number of children in foster care going up every year? Have you thought about it?
Well, while filming my documentary "Breaking the Man" based on male victims of domestic abuse, I uncovered some serious lapses and corruption in the social services sector in the U.K. The social services was created to take care of underprovided and abandoned children. However, over the course of time it has sadly degraded not only in it its services, but also badly fails the very children they should be supporting. These children grow up into very disturbed individuals who get involved in various nefarious activities like drugs, knife crime and postcode wars. This results in a dystopian society affecting the whole society making it more dangerous for everyone.
Most of the children in Care Homes and Hostels are either in prison or dead by the time they are 21.
My film is an attempt to create awareness into this deeply flawed system. I am hoping that after seeing my film people can confront councils and the government to make some changes which will benefit these young children, who can have a fairer outcome in their trails. This will in turn help the whole society.
