Secure Housing for Anamaria
Donation protected
Anamaria is a respected and honorable elder in our community. She was recently displaced from her home after the sudden death of her mother. Anamaria was also the primary caregiver for her mother up until her death. During this trying experience Anamaria depleted her savings to provide the necessary care to her mother. Anamaria is also disabled and has no transportation to get to doctor appointments and receive needed treatments. She is in need of all the necessities such as houseware, a bed and bedding. This appeal is urgent. Funds will be used immediately for moving costs, rent and living expenses. This effort is to prevent her situation from becoming dire. It is critical that she find safe and stable housing for her and her fur baby Tanny.
Anamaria is seeking to move into a peaceful and safe location where she can continue to engage and maintain her community organizing efforts that she started almost eight years ago. She has been dedicated to social justice and mutual aid for many years now. She has earned the trust, deep respect and affection of the larger community. Anamaria is a champion for social justice. She has been a relentless advocate at City Hall for our unhoused neighbors and has been committed to providing them with survival gear and food. She has also fought for the dignity of migrants and immigrants who are undocumented and against war and police brutality. Her diligent and generous efforts have made it possible for new mothers to receive the essentials that they and their newborns need, supports families experiencing homelessness, low-income individuals, and women facing domestic violence through The Godmothers (Las Madrinas) the organization she founded. Anamaria has engaged relentlessly in these much needed endeavors while joining in the fight for the rights of marginalized communities, specifically for her QTBIPOC siblings.
Anamaria is a caring and considerate person who values her privacy. She would thrive in a residence that provides some extra storage for the supplies she uses for her nonprofit. On a budget of $750 or less from her SSI. Anamaria hopes with your help and generosity to find a welcoming, comfortable, and safe place for herself and her little companion.
