Dear Big Basin Water and Sewer Customers and Neighbors,

GO FUND ME UPDATE: We are close to our fundraising goal but we need YOUR HELP!

Do not get stuck paying for the $40M water system and $4.6M sewer system upgrades in our community. These estimates from Santa Cruz County are what we, Big Basin Water & Sewer (BBW) customers, will have to pay to get these systems upgraded and to be compliant, functional, and reliable. BBW should pay for these upgrades, not us.

We have heard that BBW is already logging its land and wants to sell its timber, land, and water rights, pocket the money, and just walk away.

Do you want this to happen? We in the Tract No. 450 Neighborhood Association in the Fallen Leaf Neighborhood do not.

We are in an undeclared, but very real state of emergency. Our drinking water and sewer systems are tied together and they are failing. Our basic human rights are being denied. Our public health and safety are at risk. The time to act is now.

You can contribute to our Legal Advice Fund to support and represent our collective voices as BBW customers. We need just $1,700 more to reach our $10,000 goal. Our legal representative has begun working on our behalf but we need to continue this important work in advocating for ourselves and our families. Our community, homes, finances, and our health are all at stake.

Together we need to take a stand to hold BBW accountable for paying for all system upgrades. Don't let BBW walk away from their responsibilities and do not let this financial burden fall on you, us, or our neighbors.
