Help Us Secure the Future of Norbury Park Lawn Tennis Club!

We are Norbury Park Lawn Tennis Club, a South London gem, and we urgently need your support!

Our club has been a part of the Norbury community for 135 years, but in November 2023 we were shocked to learn that Croydon Council has announced plans to sell our land to help close their budget deficit.

This is a crucial moment: we have been given first refusal to purchase the land with a 999-year lease and we now have a chance to ensure that our beloved tennis club remains a thriving part of the community and does not fall into the hands of developers.

Whilst we have some funds set aside and can secure a few small loans, we are still short of £25,000 to make this dream a reality.

This is where you come in! Your donation will help us not only reach our target but also reduce the number of loans needed, significantly relieving the financial strain on our club.

About Norbury Park LTC

Norbury Park Lawn Tennis Club (affectionately know as Norbs) was founded in 1889 and is therefore one of the oldest tennis clubs in the world.

It is located in an area of Health and Social Deprivation and provides a much-needed safe place for people to play tennis and make friends.

We have 4 hard courts with floodlights and planning permission to build two more. There is a thriving adult membership and junior tennis programme, as well as a Pay and Play option for non-members. We are part of the Action for Sport programme to support young people integrate into society, and offer Community Coaching for Young People.

The club is additionally a social hub for the community, hosting events, parties and meetings for the local residents. We are home to a day nursery during term time.

The club is governed by a company limited by guarantee and is an Asset of Community Value.
