Sedgefield Women's Refugee Resettlement Project

We are a group of women in Sedgefield/Greensboro, NC raising money to benefit two Afghan refugee families recently settled in Greensboro, NC. In the wake of a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, the United States has evacuated tens of thousands of Afghans in need of protection. These families have escaped here because they worked with the US Government.  They helped us so let's help them!

 

We support our newcomer family through our sponsor circle by securing housing, covering utilities (including internet and phone), furnishing the home, and acquiring necessities (e.g., cleaning, personal care, clothing, and pantry items). We assist in the family's employment search, connecting to health and legal resources, enrolling children in a school or daycare program, navigating local transportation options, and taking other steps necessary to welcome the family within a new community. Your financial support is critical to supporting the family as they restart their lives in the U.S.
