Seed bombs for wildlife

Donation protected
Welcome to our honesty system seed bombs sale :)
Firstly, thank you so much for being here! The kids from the Gardening Club at Newlands Primary School and I are thrilled that you like our project.

These cute seed bombs made with paper pulp, bentonite clay and native seeds donated by the wonderful team of BAAG, are allowing us to raise funds that will go to create a wildlife garden at the school this coming National Tree Day - 26th July 2024.
We are doing this project because we believe that the impact of exposing children to nature has the most wonderful effects on their development. Planting a tree, designing a garden, or growing some natives from seed bombs, these are all wonderful experiences that will have lifelong impacts on our little ones.

So grab a jar of your favourite natives, chip in your contribution towards our fantastic cause, and have fun planting!

If you need any help, scroll below for some "how to sow" tips:

- GREEN KANGAROO PAW:
Sow from beginning of Spring to the end of Autumn.
Dissolve the seed bomb in a container with warm water and let them soak for 2 hours. Spread the mix on top of the seed starting mix and cover with more soil.
Keep the soil moist and the seeds should germinate in 6 weeks.

- BILLY BUTTON:
Sow between spring and summer.
Break down the seed bomb and sprinkle on seed starting mix. Water and cover lightly with more soil.
Keep your pot in a shady but warm spot, and make sure the soil is evenly moist.
Should germinate in 1 to 3 weeks.

- EVERLASTINGS PINK AND WHITE:
Sow from beginning of Spring to the end of Autumn.
Place seed bomb on top of good quality potting mix soil and water well. Let them dissolve and cover lightly with soil.
Keep soil moist but never wet or dry and the seeds should germinate in around 7 to 14 days

- TALL RED KANGAROO PAW:
Sow from beginning of Autumn to end of Spring.
Break down the seed bomb and sprinkle on seed starting mix. Water and cover with a very thin layer of soil.
Keep in a sunny position and maintain the soil moist, but not wet until germination starts.
With this method seeds should germinate in 5 to 6 weeks.

- BRACHYCOME MIXED SPLENDOUR:
Sow during spring.
Can be sow directly in the garden (3mm deep and 20cm apart) preferably in full sun position, but they will also grow well in part shade.
Keep the soil moist, but never wet or dry, and the seeds should germinate in around 14 to 21 days

- PURPLE ECHINACEA:
Sow in spring.
In a pot with seed starting mix, dig a 7 cms hole and place the seed bomb inside it.
Keep the soil moist and leave them in a location that receives morning sun and afternoon shade.
