Seeking help for Tom's Heart

My name is Beth, and I am a therapist and artist living in Sussex.

I am reaching out to ask you if you could support me in raising funds for my husband Tom and his heart health.

In February of this year, he had his second heart attack, which led to a third heart attack causing him to go into cardiac arrest where he died for 5 minutes. Thankfully he was brought back to life by a fantastic team of excellent doctors and nurses at the Royal Sussex hospital Brighton, to whom I will forever be grateful.

Tom experienced his first heart attack when he was 44. It was shocking to us and the medical professionals because he is a very fit, healthy man who looks after his body; he is not overweight, exercises regularly, eats well, does not smoke, and barely drinks alcohol. The NHS does not have the answer as to why Tom's arteries are continuing to calcify.

After immense research, Tom is reaching his conclusions, one is stress, and the other is visceral fat.

The stress he is working on begins with quitting his job, and the latter is visceral fat. The NHS does not recognise this about heart disease. However, many independent private cardiologists do.

Visceral fat is a highly inflammatory toxic substance that contributes immensely to chronic diseases ( heart disease being one of them). It forms around vital organs and is not visible. The only natural way to see if you have this is by having an Abdominal CT scan, which the NHS will not pay for. Nor will they provide specific blood tests that Tom needs.

Tom is so confident from his research that these tests could prevent further issues and that supporting him will bring awareness to the need for this as a standard procedure.
