Seeking Help to Evacuate My Family in Gaza

Greetings, I'm Dana. Three years ago, I received a life-changing opportunity: a scholarship to study dentistry at Erciyes University in Turkey, becoming the sole student selected from Palestine. Venturing into this educational journey amidst challenging circumstances meant leaving my family behind. The strain of being a foreign student, compounded by the growing risks faced by my family,

In the attached photos, the image on the right, taken during my visit to Gaza last year, features my father, Dr. Muneer, a dedicated educator at Al-Aqsa University, and my brother, Waseem, a committed doctor – both unwavering pillars of support. This year, my sister Sandra is graduating from dentistry school, yet due to the ongoing conflict, we have been unable to celebrate this milestone.

The left image portrays my father amidst the devastating wreckage of our once cherished family home in the Palestine Tower of the Al-Rimal neighborhood. This place, once a haven for our dreams and aspirations, fell victim to ruthless bombings during the initial strikes in the heart of Gaza's war. Behind my father lies his shattered research and academic aspirations, lost to the unforgiving ravages of conflict. Despite our painstaking efforts to restore our home after the 2021 war, it became a tragic casualty amidst the relentless chaos of 2023.

Adding to our challenges, my father suffers from high blood pressure and is unable to access medication due to its scarcity and exorbitant prices. My family has endured multiple displacements and currently finds themselves stranded in Rafah, clinging to hope for a chance to start anew.
