Seeking Justice and Peace for Roman Lizaola-Montano

I'm deeply saddened to announce the sudden and tragic passing of our father, who was killed in a hit-and-run incident while he was walking towards the bus stop after leaving his long day shift. The incident occurred in Newport Beach at 9:39 PM on July 16 (please see attached press release by NBPD for exact location) where he was struck by Jesus A. Bartolo, a Santa Ana resident. After striking my father with his vehicle and killing him, Bartolo left the scene. He was later arrested and, after his booking, was released on bail.

This was very unexpected and tragic. My father was a loving father of three children, very hard-working, and he worked at a Pavilion store where all his coworkers shared that he was greatly loved and cared for. His untimely death has left our family in shock and mourning. The immense pain and emptiness that my siblings and I are feeling is indescribable. We are devastated by this senseless loss and are seeking comfort and justice in this difficult time.

I’m asking everyone who is reading this story to please share anything they may be able to help with to put my father to rest. This was all very unexpected, and the funeral expenses are very much expensive. Anything that you can contribute means so much to me and my family.
