Sekou Writes - He's Our American HERO

SEKOU's friends-Moorehouse brother's-family-fans and clients need him back in stride again.

We all know Sekou in different capacities. Writer. Educator. Creator. Athlete. Philanthropist. Friend.

Today he is Sekou, the patient. He is on a mission that he did not choose but that he is fully embracing. The mission is to restore his health. And he needs our help.

On July 14, 2022 (409), days after he started running daily for mental, physical and spiritual well-being, our brother literally fell ill. Many of you may be wondering where Sekou Writes is. While speaking to a group of young students he had been mentoring at Fisk University, Sekou suffered a horrific health challenge and is working hard to recover.

Our American HERO is an acronym that Sekou created meaning: Helping Everyone Reaps Optimism. Our brother needs us all to become a HERO for ourselves, our community and for him. We believe you'll agree that giving back to Sekou comes easy. Not just because he's a great guy, but because he has given to thousands, if not millions, by the way, he shows up for others. Running and raising money for the 'Back on My Feet' nonprofit. His service, running and raising funds for the unhoused community through fundraisers and the sale of HERO teeshirts and sweatshirts. His generosity via his Facebook show and podcast, where he doles out financial advice; making it clear that he is not a financial advisor. Sekou uses both platforms to share and encourage spiritual growth, self-awareness and self-improvement. The last two years especially have prepared Sekou's mind and body to fight for his physical condition. We believe that with your help and Sekou's fighting spirit, he will accomplish the greatest feat to date, recovering from this life-threatening health challenge.

Asking for help does not come easy for any of us. However, the definition of HELP is: to give assistance or support to (someone). We are asking for your help.
