Selah's Strength - A Journey of Recovery
Donation protected
Yesterday, our world changed in a way we could never have imagined. Our beloved Selah, a radiant 7-year-old girl ready to start on her second-grade adventure, lost four of her fingers on her left hand in a tragic and heartbreaking accident at home. Fourteen hours of intense surgery were spent in the desperate hope to reattach some of those precious fingers that helped her create, play, and express her love.
Selah is the twin daughter of a Pastor and his wife, a teacher at a Christian school. With four children, their family is a symbol of faith and unity, and Selah's accident has struck a blow that reaches beyond their household and into the hearts of a grieving yet grateful community.
Selah's life, and those of our family, are forever altered. We never could have predicted this devastating twist in our journey, yet we find comfort in knowing that it was not worse and was no surprise to our Sovereign God. He is writing a better story for his glory than what we know or could. We are grieving but grateful to God for His mercy and grace.
The road ahead for Selah is long and filled with challenges. Months and years of physical therapy, costly prosthetics, and emotional healing await her. But we're fiercely committed to helping her thrive, to ensuring that she returns to home life, school, and the joyful life she knew. We are determined to support her as she remains the energetic, creative, and high-spirited 7-year-old we love so dearly.
We have found solace in the boundless love and warmth of a supportive community. Those known and unknown to us have reached out with compassion, showering us with acts of kindness, from the comfort of home-cooked meals to the spiritual embrace of heartfelt prayers. We are overwhelmed by your love.
We hope you never know pain like this, but we also hope that you may know the exquisite gift of children's resilience, as we now do. In the face of adversity, there is hope, and there is love.
We thank you so much for your support, at whatever level feels right to you. Each contribution, each prayer, and each kind word represents hope for Selah's recovery. Each contribution will go directly to her medical expenses, physical therapy, prosthetics, etc.
With Gratitude,
Selah's Family
