¡Hola! Soy Sara Curruchich, cantautora y activista de origen maya kaqchikel, y estoy convencida de que ser mujer es un acto de resistencia. Mi música en sí misma es una declaración política y una postura identitaria.
¡Hoy te invito a impulsar proyectos comunitarios por y para mujeres indígenas!
Con esta recaudación de fondos apoyaremos a Fondo Semillas, una organización feminista única en México. Han trabajado por más de 30 años contra la desigualdad y la violencia, apoyando a 624 organizaciones y más de un millón de personas.
Con los fondos obtenidos, Fondo Semillas financiará a Ko´olel, un grupo que ayuda a mujeres, jóvenes y niñas indígenas de Calakmul y Hopelchén, en Campeche, a expresar su identidad cultural y su lengua materna sin ser discriminadas. En un contexto donde el porcentaje de hablantes de lenguas indígenas ha disminuido más de 7% entre 2015 y 2020, Ko´olel enseña chol y maya a 80 niñas para evitar que pierdan parte de su identidad.
Algunas de las actividades clave que llevarán a cabo con tu apoyo son:
- Generar espacios lúdicos para fortalecer el aprendizaje de la lengua materna.
- Crear espacios de autocuidado para que jóvenes indígenas compartan sus vivencias de discriminación y encuentren una comunidad para aprender y acompañarse.
- Promover reuniones de intercambio entre generaciones de mujeres, jóvenes y niñas de comunidades indígenas.
Puedes aportar a Fondo Semillas hasta el 31 de agosto para ayudar a que más niñas se sientan orgullosas de su identidad y a preservar la riqueza cultural de México y Latinoamérica.

Hello! I’m Sara Curruchich, singer-songwriter and activist of Mayan Kaqchikel origin, and I am convinced that being a woman is an act of resistance. My music is itself a political statement and an identity stance.
Today I invite you to join efforts to promote community projects by and for indigenous women! With this fundraising, we will support Fondo Semillas, a unique feminist organization in Mexico. For over 30 years, they’ve been fighting against inequality and violence, supporting 624 organizations and over a million people.
With the funds raised, Fondo Semillas will finance Ko´olel, a group that helps indigenous women, youth, and girls from Calakmul and Hopelchén, in Campeche, to express their cultural identity and native language without facing discrimination. In a context where the percentage of speakers of indigenous languages has dropped by over 7% between 2015 and 2020, Ko´olel will teach chol and maya to 80 girls to help them retain their identity.
Key activities they’ll carry out with your support include:
- Creating playful spaces to strengthen the learning of native languages.
- Setting up self-care spaces where indigenous youth can share their experiences of discrimination and find a community for support and learning.
- Promoting intergenerational meetings among women, youth, and girls from indigenous communities.
You can contribute to Fondo Semillas until August 31 to help more girls take pride in their identity and preserve the cultural richness of Mexico and Latin America.
