Donation protected
Hello, my name is Semhar, and I want to thank you for visiting my GoFundMe page. I have had a long journey over the last few years, and I wanted to share my story in an effort to fundraise so I can catch up on some of the basics I missed.
In January of 2015, I became very sick with the flu, and after several days of attempting to rest and recover, I became unresponsive and needed emergency medical assistance. My friend called 911, and first responders arrived to find me without a pulse. I was shocked by a defibrillator and had a breathing tube inserted into my airway to revive me while being rushed to a hospital. In the ER, I flatlined multiple times, was eventually resuscitated, put in a medically induced coma for several weeks, and spent the time in the ICU.
I finally regained consciousness after recovering from the illness; however, I had to relearn how to walk, write and basically become myself again. It took years of physical therapy to work my way up from a wheelchair to a walker and eventually a cane. I was unable to speak afterward because, unknown to anyone, my jaw was dislocated when first responders were trying to save me. Unfortunately, since it was not discovered until after I was out of my coma, my jaw was irreparably damaged. I needed surgery and an implant, along with lots of physical and occupational therapy to be able to speak and eat again.
After many years I have regained much of what I lost; however, I am permanently disabled and struggle to live the fulfilling life I would like. I live by myself, and with the rising cost of living, I would love assistance with some basic expenses and essentials, as well as to purchase a vehicle. The vehicle would help me regain some self-sufficiency, allowing me to independently get to the church, store and college.
I am thankful to GOD that I am still here and grateful for the second chance I was given. I love my life and am so appreciative of anyone who can contribute!
