Help Sena w medical bills and car repairs

Sena was driving me to the airport in Accra, Ghana after a wonderful, memorable, fun-filled 3-week visit in January outside of Cape Coast with her wonderful mother Adwoa, (the only female master drummer in Ghana), and her 3 beautiful children, Jusauluc (10), Soraya (8), and Antoine (just turned 7)! Just the day before I remember telling Sena I was feeling so grateful I hadn't witnessed any accidents (because in my experience, it was one of the most dangerous places to drive on earth), nor had I heard or witnessed any fighting or violence during my stay. I was feeling so grateful for experiencing so much peace, joy, happiness and laughter for 3 solid weeks!

Unfortunately, I spoke too soon because halfway to the airport a crazy, aggressive, bully-like driver coming from the other direction decided to pass the car in front of him. The only problem was that we were "in the way", and when we swerved away suddenly to protect ourselves from the unexpected onslaught, our car went out of control and spun around like a top and he eventually in a matter of seconds forced us off the road tumbling into a ditch creating a horrible accident where Sena's car was completely totaled. As a result, she is recovering from terrible bruises and debilitating pain in her neck, chest, shoulders, back and pelvis areas.

I was in the back seat making lunch and because I'm so short, my view was blocked, so I didn't see what was coming and didn't witness the horror, so I didn't brace up, and didn't get hurt as badly as Sena did, although I did get tossed and banged around inside the car which resulted in a lot of bleeding from torn skin. The experience was one of the scariest I have ever been through and we were both praying non-stop for our lives throughout the whole ordeal which probably lasted just a few minutes.

We are feeling so, so grateful we came out of the accident alive, and we give thanks to God/dess every day for protecting and saving our lives!

Adom nti na me tease!

Sena still needs your prayers and she especially needs gifts in the form of monetary donations to help repair her car and for assistance paying her medical bills (there is no medical or car insurance in Ghana). After going to the emergency room and seeing doctors for her diagnosis, she is now regularly getting massages and seeing a physical therapist to help with her recovery.

Sena is sincerely grateful for any amount you are willing to donate and gift to her cause. No amount is too small - together we can make a huge difference!

Thank you so very much for helping her out during this vulnerable time.

Here are our final g'bye shots on my last day and "before and after pics" of Sena's beautiful red car. If you look closely you can see me wiping a tear from my eyes in the "before pic." Those tears were because I was feeling so sad to leave my Ghanaian family after such a wonderful time together. Other kinds of tears came later to help us release from the great shock.
