Campaign:
First of all, thank you for taking the time to visit this campaign. There a lot of things you could be doing with your time besides reading this, but your support is much appreciated.

My name is Denise. My daughter Hannah is raising money to attend a select 4-week Art Academy.

This past Fall, her rodeo art piece (the one in the picture) was blessed to place 17th out of nearly 400 entries. This was very exciting news, especially since in the past, the winners of the competition got the opportunity to be interviewed and selected to be in a small group of students to attend a 4 week art academy, all expenses paid.

She entered the rodeo competition in hopes of qualifing
for an opportunity to attend the art academy, so it was disappointing  to us to hear that last year, the rodeo  stopped giving scholorships and is no longer partenering with the art academy or sending any students.

I spoke to the directer of the art academy, and Hannah was chosen and invited to attend because she placed in the top 25. The only stipulation to attending is that she raise her own tuition, of $4,300.  This campaign amount includes the tuition cost of $4,300 plus $300 for minimal fundraising costs.

Her piece raised over $6,000 in college scholarship money. Although a big accomplishment all the proceeds are being held by the rodeo association and put in a college scholarship fund for her to use after she graduates from high school and sadly is not availble to use towards any art training or the art academy.

As a top 25 finalist her peice was on display at a local Western Art Museum as well as the Rodeo this year and she said seeing her art up at the museum was an amazing experience and being part of the auction process was exciting. She hopes it won’t be the last time her art is displayed in a museum.

If Hannah is able to raise the money for this academy, she will be taught by a small teacher to student ratio of professional instructors teaching her,
(The detailed information below is taken directly from the academy's program description.)

"Painting is taught classically with emphasis on planning, composition and color theory. Students are taught how to paint using oils and instructors provide both individual attention and group critiques. Scholoars are expected to generate original ideas to develop their compositions based on still life material, live models and historical reference materials gathered from special demonstrations, exhibitions, and field trips.

Sculpture is taught in both relief and armature formats with an emphasis on planning, composition and the process of form generation. Students are taught how to sculpt using modeling clay with instructors providing both individual guidance and group critiques. Scholars are expected to generate original ideas to develop their compositions based on still life material, live models and historical reference materials gathered from special demonstrations, exhibitions, and field trips.

At the end of each academy session students are given the opportunity to exhibit the work that they have created during their time in the academy. They also price this work in consultation with their instructors for sale during the graduation event."

As a gifted artist this is a once in a life-time opportunity that I hope my daughter Hannah will be able to experience as an aspiring professional artist/illustrator. Will you please consider making a donation to help her attend this amazing art academy?

To show our gratitude, for every $250 donation, a 11x14 signed print of her rodeo art peice will be given.

Thank you!

Blessings,
Denise Warnick
