Hi, I'm Helen Clark and I am proud to serve on the Board for Summit Support Services of Ashe in NC. Summit provides vital services for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities through its group homes and day programs where folks learn how to participate in life to the fullest extent. http://summitsupportservices.org

Every year in October, many of the people we support elect to attend Camp Blue Skies which is hosted at Camp Harrison in Boomer, NC. https://campblueskies.org The mission of Camp Blue Skies Foundation is to offer camps to adults with developmental disabilities, enhancing their lives through recreation, socialization and life skills education. The number of services and support for persons with intellectual disabilities drops off dramatically after they reach the age of 21. Residential camps offer these individuals opportunities for making new friends and experiencing new activities while nurturing the mind, body and spirit And they have a WONDERFUL TIME! Every year, our folks have a special place to look forward to, where they can enjoy themselves and build their self-confidence.

This 4-day Camp costs $425 per person and provides all activities, food, lodging and support staff. Activities include fitness, fishing, ropes course, arts/crafts, and a Dance. We know 6 folks who want to attend camp but lack the financial resources to pay. We want to make it possible for them to have their wishes fulfilled. Please join us in the effort to give these special individuals a well-deserved experience of a lifetime. We appreciate any amount you feel comfortable donating.
