My father has been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. He has asked I remain in school for the duration of his treatment - meaning I'll spend the next 4 months 4,300 km (2600 miles) from home, only able to watch from afar. My wish? Is to fly home at least twice in order to see my father, to support him not only in spirit but also by presence. As a medicine student, I am not allowed to carry a job for the duration of my education. Furthermore, a critical exam is looming (USMLE Step 1 will be taken in July) which carries its own exorbitant costs. I am hoping to simply raise funds in order to comfortably fly home without adding any financial strain to my own world or that of my parents. And with flights costing anywhere from $700-1000 USD round trip, I cannot do this alone. Please, any/all donations are appreciated.
